A quick experiment with combining multi-exposure and macro ideals- Multi-exposure shots were taken until the background was more or less complete (ISO 100, 1", f4.6) with the foreground out of focus. The foreground itself was captured via f1.8 with +2 and +4 macro lenses, lending the narrow depth of field seen above. When composited, the detail of the focused foreground allowed the unfocused, low-light exposures to contribute their highlights and lighting to the scene, completing the piece.
