Although far from a result I'm happy with, my first attempt at "Sunrise Upstaged" led to the slightly more melodramatic lighting seen above, not to mention the purple hues I just couldn't seem to rid the photo of. That said, it provided an gateway to my later foreground-background isolation techniques, as well as a clumsy attempt at a zoom-flare during the HDR exposures. I've included the focal depth maps and mask calculated thereof for posterity.
